Good news from the wild western frontier of McCormick County SC! Bill and Betty Young have protected their 108-acre tree farm with a conservation easement– beautiful woods and trails along an old winding road that once led early settlers to forts and ferries. Bill has been a pioneer in bringing solar power into everyday life, down on the space coast of Florida, and is proud now to be exploring sustainable forest and farming ideas in our Upper Savannah country.
Looks like a real estate closing? It is! Bill and Betty are retaining their private property, but donating a conservation easement (to protect it’s conservation value) to the Upper Savannah Land Trust as a permanent real estate interest. A man with a vision for the future… and a place to secure it.
